Is the image sent to a server?
Background removal runs on your device. The browser downloads model files, without sending your image to the model host. Choosing poster import uploads the processed image to your account.
Does it use Poster credits?
Local background removal and downloading do not use Poster credits or require an account. Importing into your private poster workspace requires signing in.
Why does the first run take longer?
The first run downloads the model and runtime files; their sizes are shown above the start button. Caching depends on available browser storage, and speed depends on the device.
